How to accession a postcard

Every card in the museum began as a photograph on someone's kitchen table. Here is the small ritual we ask new collectors to follow.

1. Light and lay flat

Daylight, no flash, card on a plain surface. Trim the frame close to the edges.

2. Photograph both sides

Front first, then back. If there is a stamp, make sure it is legible.

3. Upload and let the archive read it

Our reader transcribes handwriting, dates the card, and drafts a short historical note. You get to review and edit before it is accessioned.

4. Attribute your collection

Every card carries a small credit line back to your collector profile. Your name travels with the card, forever.
